out wit old in with the new
My home was built in 1956. I don't think anything had been done to update the bath since then. I did my due diligence and had 3 companies come to my home, describe their products and procedures, and give estimates of the cost. I actually signed a contract with the second company just before Ron, J.R. Bath's rep, came to my home. I pretty much had my mind made up and told Ron this when he arrived but still wanted to hear what he had to say. Well, after talking to him I went straight to the bank and stopped payment on my check and cancelled the contract with the other company. Not only did Ron give a great presentation but explained what would be done and how. I had contracted with the other company for a shell over the old tub, plain white tub and smooth white surround. I know, I know boooooring right?? With J.R. Luxury Bath they tore out the old aqua cast iron tub and all the seafoam green ceramic tile...down to the studs. They replaced it with a biscuit-colored tub and a surround that is textured and looks like granite.....Canyon Rock, for your information, oil-rubbed bronze fixtures and grab bar. WOW!!! It looks like a million bucks!! AND they beat the pants off the other two companies at pricing!!!! Did I mention they even raised the shower head to today's standards so anyone taller than a mouse could shower in comfort?My old cast iron tub was so pitted and ugly I wouldn't get in it to take a bath....showers only for me....and I love a good soak...but, no go with the old tub...yuck!!! Now I luxuriate in the tub with wonderful smells and spa treatments.....ahhhhhh...does wonders for the old aches and pains. Chad was my installer. He made the process painless. Not only was he pleasant with a great sense of humor but he sure is easy on the eyes, too!! Woops....sorry! He left everything spic and span when he was done with the job and he explained how everything worked and taught me how to make sure my bath looks like new in years to come. Along the way we has a small snafu in the process but BAM John the owner was right there with with the solution to make me a very happy camper.....errrrr I mean bather. All in all a pleasant and very rewarding experience that makes me smile everytime I step in the tub!!
